I Love to Read

22/02/2019

In many parts of Canada and the United States, February means “I Love to Read Month,” an entire month dedicated to promoting a love of reading and being read to. This idea, started many years ago, has been gaining popularity among schools, libraries and organizations throughout North America. Parents, too, have adopted the idea of a month to promote reading as a shared family activity.

Here at Winnipeg Harvest, we are excited to celebrate reading and discovering new books.  We have begun the commitment to read a book a quarter with our leadership team. We want to not only learn about leadership but learn as a team.

We began our literary journey for our manager group with ‘Dare to Lead’, by Brene Brown because it takes a takes the approach that leadership is not a job title but a responsibility. “A leader is anyone who takes responsibility for recognizing the potential in people and ideas, and has the courage to develop that potential”. Brene Brown. This has started off as a fantastic read which working our way through  as a group. Stay tuned for updates on what we discover.

We look forward to sharing future books with you. Happy reading!
