Winnipeg Harvest is proud to welcome Brett Andersen as our newest board member. Andersen is an accountant with PwC and has been volunteering his time with Winnipeg Harvest. He enjoys being able to see first-hand the impact one person volunteering their time can have on our communities.
“I feel it’s very important to be a part of the impact. This is a necessity for people and it’s something everyone should have access to,” says Andersen. “If I can help in this way, and also use my voice to direct others to help as well, then of course I will.”
In addition to donating his time, Andersen also enjoys keeping a busy extra-curricular life outside of the office by spending time outdoors and participating in various sports. He urges anyone interested in volunteering their time with Winnipeg Harvest to set aside the time to do so.
“What drives me to help is the community,” he says. “You see the immediate benefit when you’re here. I have seen individuals picking up from the food bank one week, and later as volunteers, helping others in their situation. Everyone is working together for this cause, because it’s worth it.”
Welcome again to Brett Andersen.
