National Council of Welfare

The National Council of Welfare was established as an advisory group to the Minister of National Health and Welfare by the Government Organization Act of 1969. The Council now reports to the Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development Canada.

The mandate of the Council is to advise the Minister regarding any matter relating to social development that the Minister may refer to the Council for its consideration or that the Council considers appropriate.

Team Member of the Month

February 2012

Frederick (Rick) Perry-Parent and Allen Perry-Parent have been volunteering since September of 2010. They started in sorting area and also work in the food bank room. They volunteer Thursday mornings and Friday afternoons. They help train new volunteers in the food bank room, always follow the procedure and work above and beyond. Thank you gentlemen.
